 The Samanid Mausoleum

Hello dear followers!

Today we visited one of the most famous ancient places of Bukhara, which is the Samanid Mausoleum.✨ Now I am going to share my impression and experience of today始s guided tour.☺️ I think all of you know this historical monument very well.✨ Despite rainy weather, we spent time enjoyable and gained new information .❣️

Though you know this site , now I 始m going to give you additional brief information about its origin, construction and importance in our society. Here you can see general view of mausoleum.✨

The Samanid Mausoleum is a mausoleum located in the northwestern part of Bukhara . It was built in the 10th century CE as the resting place of the powerful and Islamic influential Samanid dynasty that ruled the Samanid Empire from approximately 900 to 1000. It contained three  burials, one of whom is known to have been that of Nasr II.馃挮

It is interior part of mausoleum.

There is evidence proving that Ismail Samani built the mausoleum for Ahmad ibn Assad, his father. The mausoleum became a family tomb later where Ismail Samani himself was buried, and so was his grandson✨.

Besides its beauty, the mausoleum is famous for being the oldest Islamic architectural monument in Central Asia. However, its design is not traditionally Islamic; itss from Zoroastrian burial structures and fire temples. 馃専

If I talk about its construction, the mausoleum is built of only fired bricks and has the form of a cube. Each of the four corners of it has a pillar with almost no decoration. The pillars hold arcades of ten arches on each side. At the corners of the roof there are small domes; they are shifted a little towards the center in relation to the pillars. The center of the roof is crowned with a large dome.

Here you can see the tomb and find some interesting information about this tomb. I gave brief information about its origin , importance , construction and so on馃挱.

The mausoleum marks a new era in the development of Central Asian architecture after the Arabian conquest. The architects continued to follow the ancient tradition of brick construction, but to a much higher standard than before.馃挮

This is a picture with my dears❣️ as well as our lovely teacher was with us馃グ In spite of rainy weather condition , we continued our trip and spent time enjoyable 馃槏
