3rd day - Boboyi Porado'z

 Boboyi Porado'z

Hello everybody!

Today始s blog is about one of the most famous and ancient places of Bukhara, Boboyi Porado'z Mausoleum.

We visited there with our coursemates, as well as our teacher was with us 馃槆 During this trip we gained some new knowledge about its origin, importance of mausoleum, and so on. Now I'm going to share some of them.

Boboyi Poradoz mausoleum is an architectural monument in Bukhara . The mausoleum was built in the 19th century and is located outside the Sallochona gate . Today, the mausoleum is located across from the Ibn Sina Library of Bukhara . The mausoleum is included in the national list of immovable property objects of the material and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan .

The mausoleum was built on the grave of scholar and sheikh Hazrat Baboyi Poradoz (patchmaker). Boboyi Poradoz lived in (842-925) and lived 83 years . His profession was patchwork and shoemaking. that's why he is also considered a peer of shoemakers. In this mausoleum, there are graves of many people except Boboyi Poradoz. The entrance to the mausoleum has been renovated. There is a stone on the side of the mausoleum, indicating the saint's grave. The entrance of the monument is decorated with a pattern and the door of the mausoleum has been newly installed. The top of the mausoleum consists of small and large domes. The inside of the mausoleum is made of marble, and on both sides there are seats for the comfort of the pilgrims. There is also a mihrab inside the mausoleum. According to Sadriddin Salim Bukhari, during the Soviet years, the tractor that came to demolish the mausoleum turned off and the driver died. That is why the mausoleum remained intact. This shrine is visited by shoemakers, tailors, mashids and other professions. After the independence of Uzbekistan, this mausoleum was repaired at the initiative of businessman Abdulgafur Mirzoyev.

Boboyi Poradoz mausoleum was built in the style of Central Asian architecture. The mausoleum was built of brick, wood, stone and ganch. Today, the mausoleum is preserved.

According to legends, the soil in the grave of Boboyi Poradoz is a cure for wound diseases and various injuries.
